The receipt of a $50,000 contribution pledged by Edison Price Lighting to The Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education was announced by Jeffrey A, Milham, president. “With this significant donation, Edison Price Lighting has become an Advocate of the Fund which is the Fund’s highest category of giving,” says Milham.

Milham noted that Edison Price Lighting has become the fifth major donor in the Fund’s Advocate category, joining Designers Lighting Forum of New York, New York City Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society, Jonas Bellovin Memorial Foundation, and Nulux Incorporated.

Edison Price Lighting president, Emma Price affirmed that her firm’s program to actively assist lighting education has been on-going. “We believe there is an enormous need for increased lighting education,” says Price. “The Nuckolls Fund, by directly financing courses in lighting at colleges and universities in the U.S. and Canada, ensures that qualified students can receive needed instruction in the art and science of lighting,” she states.

The Nuckolls Fund plays an important role in educating current and future generations of professional lighting specialists, Price indicates. “The return on our investment in The Nuckolls Fund is knowing that the courses they make possible directly contribute to creating the excellent lighting that is integral to good architecture, and to enhancing the human experience,” she says.
Located in the Long Island City section of New York City, Edison Price Lighting was founded in 1952 by Ms. Price’s father, Edison Price. She assumed leadership of the company in 1989. It occupies a 60,000-sq-ft facility that includes factory, testing lab, offices, and the Edison Price Lighting Gallery.

The Nuckolls Fund for Lighting Education, named in honor of the late lighting designer and educator James Nuckolls, has distributed a total of $1.140 million in grants and awards. It celebrates its thirtieth anniversary in 2019 with the awarding of grants and awards at the DLFNY LEDucation conference, March 12-13, at the New York Hilton.
